What's in a name?
Last week I met with a career coach who specialises in working with consultants to figure out all the things I need to do to get myself self-employed. My task for the week is to come up with a name for my business. I can't use my name, cuz there is actually someone else out there using it, so I need something else. I've been tossing things around, but it seems that everything I come up with, someone is already using. I was at the beach the other day throwing stones in the lake with my husband and son, and thought, 'Skipping Stone Consulting', I like it! Went home, Googled it, taken. I don't want something too value-laden, since international development can get so political, I don't want to have to defend it all the time. I also don't want to raise expectations too high or be too specific about what I will be doing, when I'm pretty much a generalist. So it have to be something completely neutral, or somewhat descriptive, but not too specific. Since I'll be doing mainly project management, in the international development field, I've been thinking along those lines.
Oh gotta run, baby's up. Any ideas?
Comments
- Commotion Consulting
- Control Freak Consulting (if you wanted something cheeky)
- Con Moto Consulting (although that would only be understood by musicians)
I also saw 'conjugal' consulting, which would be perfect for a marriage counselor. Anyway, the point is to just skim the dictionary for a bit. You'll probably find something fitting. If nothing else, you'll find some neat combinations that might make you laugh.
And you can always use "Fresh 'n Tarty" - you came up with it after all.
